Conditions Treated
As a renowned Houston cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Davis has vast experience in diagnosing, treating, and preventing health concerns in the heart, as well as the rest of the body’s systems which work together to keep you healthy. Dr. Davis treats the following health conditions:
Peripheral Artery Disease
PAD is the result of often life threatening blockages in the blood vessels, which impedes proper blood flow. It is estimated that between 18-21% of the American population has PAD, which often goes undetected until it’s too late and amputation becomes necessary. Dr. Davis helps in early detection of PAD and treatment that can reduce its severity so your body can circulate blood as it should.
Leg Problems
If you discover wounds or ulcers on your feet or legs, it might be PAD. Leg problems should be addressed in a timely manner, and Houston cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr. Davis, can assess your legs and determine the underlying cause so you can regain the mobility you deserve in order to live your life to the fullest.
Diabetic Wounds
Diabetic patients may be at greater risk of spontaneous wounds, especially on the bottoms of the feet. If they suffer from wounds because of PAD, then their body heals much slower, which may result in infected ulcers. Dr. Davis will work with you and your other doctors to see if you have PAD, intervene, and monitor your condition so it doesn’t become severe.
Carotid Artery Disease
Carotid Artery Disease is a condition in which the blood vessels that deliver blood from the heart to the brain become blocked, which puts you at greater risk of suffering from a stroke–or multiple strokes. The effects of a stroke are entirely reliant on timing, so preventing them in the first place is imperative. Dr. Davis and his team can assess your health and treat you accordingly to reduce your chances of stroke.
Kidney Failure
High blood pressure and arterial disease may lead to kidney failure, causing patients to undergo dialysis. Let us help restore your kidney function with dialysis access.
Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA)
An AAA is a potentially life-threatening condition in which the aorta develops a bulge at the level of the abdomen and inhibits your body systems due to the risk of rupture. Dr. Davis performs exceptional AAA surgery to remove the aneurysm and give you back your livelihood.
Lung Disorders
Dr. Cornelius Davis was one of the first lung mass surgeons in Houston to perform lung procedures through ports rather than large incisions.
